MAITUM, Sarangani (May 6, 2012) – Martiza Thea Gusto (#2) rejoices upon hearing the announcement of the hosts that she won the title of Mutya ng Maitum 2012 at its coronation night Saturday, May 5, at the municipal gymnasium. The search for Mutya ng Maitum is one of the highlights of the Binuyugan Festival celebration that culminates Monday (May 7). After Binuyugan is the awaited premier summer event in Sarangani, the Sarangani Bay Festival on May 18 and 19 in Gumasa, Glan. Sarbay Fest is the biggest beach festival in Mindanao. Maitum opens cultural showcase and agro-trade fair

MAITUM, Sarangani (May 5, 2012) – Mayor Elsie Lucille Perrett cuts the ribbon to signal the opening of the Cultural Showcase and Agro-Trade Fair on the occasion of the 15th Binuyugan Festival and 53rd Foundation Anniversary of Maitum. Assisting her is Councilor Kubli Kusin while Councilors Genaro Strong, Edgar del Rosario, Remigius Mayled, and Josefina Marasigan look on. Gracing the occasion is Engr. Soldier tops Fun Run of Binuyugan Festival

MAITUM, Sarangani (May 4, 2012) – Pfc. Nul Ambaih of the 73rd Infantry Battalion finished first in the male category of Binuyugan Festival’s 5K Fun Run for the Environment Thursday, May 3. Other winners were Pfc. Lalona of 73rd IB, 2nd place; and PSI Arnold Montesa of Maitum Police Station, 3rd place.
